Dear Friends of Charis,
I am excited to begin as the new Executive Director as Charis Ministries moves forward after Fr. Michael Sparough's gracious and successful 9-year tenure as Founder and Executive Director.
Over the past nine years, Charis Ministries has made great strides in reaching out to Catholic young adults in their 20s and 30s. I am eager to take on the challenge of continuing that outreach. Charis’ programs have a reputation for excellence and our goal is to share the good news of their effectiveness with many more parishes, dioceses, and organizations that serve this age group.
In 2005, the United States Council of Catholic Bishops named Charis a Best Practice in young adult ministry. Since then, we’ve continued building a stronger bridge of connection to the Catholic faith. However, we need the support of our friends and donors to keep the door to the Catholic Church open to the 1,500 young adults nationally who participate in our programs.
Charis Ministries seeks to expand its outreach and attempts to touch the hearts and souls of many more young adults. Although we are generously supported by the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus, we rely on contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations to keep us growing. We invite you to take a moment to read about our past events and accomplishments, learn what your donation supports, and find more ways to help or get involved.
